Derby-based social enterprise, Nimbus Disability, has been appointed by organisers of the world-renowned Glastonbury Festival to improve access for disabled music fans at the 2024 event.
UPDATE 02/11/2023: Glastonbury Festival has moved back the dates for the ticket sales by two weeks for more people to register. Pre-registration for tickets for next year’s festival in June will reopen 12pm GMT Monday 6th November and close 5pm GMT on Monday 13th November. Tickets + coach travel go on sale at 6pm GMT on Thursday 16th November. General admission tickets go on sale at 9am GMT on Sunday 19th November.
Anyone with accessibility needs must hold either the Glastonbury Festival Access Pass – which will provide you with an Access Pass code to give you the opportunity to book accessible facilities – or already have an Access Card – the internationally recognised scheme, which is devised and run by Nimbus Disability.
What is the Access Card?
The Access Card, recognised with The Queen’s Award for Innovation, is held by hundreds of thousands of people in the UK and beyond who register their accessibility requirements.
Powered by ‘NOS’, Nimbus Disability’s bespoke software, the Access Card system translates its holder’s disability/impairment/access requirements into symbols highlighting the barriers they face.
When booking tickets online, the Nimbus Operating System informs providers quickly and discreetly about the access requirements that individuals need without sharing further information about them with the venue.
This has vastly improved access for disabled people who previously had to provide benefit entitlement letters or invasive amounts of personal information each time they booked tickets for festivals, cinemas, sports matches and more.
Glastonbury Festival partners with Nimbus Disability
Martin Austin MBE is managing director of Nimbus Disability, the organisation which is run by disabled people for disabled people.
He explained: “We are delighted to be working closely with organisers of next year’s Glastonbury Festival to break down the barriers for disabled people and ensure they get the experience they want and deserve at the iconic event.
“The easiest way for disabled people to register their accessibility requirements is to be a holder of the Access Card, which is also accepted at a vast range of other venues.
“Alternatively, anyone who is successful in securing tickets for Glastonbury can apply for the free pass for this event, which has been developed with the support of the Nimbus Disability team.”

Advertise With Crip Life™
The Crip Life™ advertising strategy is “Pay What You Can (PWYC).” We know this is very different to most if not all, online magazines. PWYC is a business model that doesn’t insist upon set prices for its goods or services. Instead, it asks clients to pay what they feel the product or service is worth and what you can afford to pay.
We want to place adverts for a wide range of clients. So, whatever the size of the organisation, if you want to promote a product or service, contact Joanna Baker-Rogers.
