The Great British Bake Off is excited to be searching for the next wave of talented amateur bakers to take on the challenges of the iconic white tent in 2026.

This could be your chance to bake in the iconic white tent… and who knows — maybe that next Hollywood Handshake could be yours!

Who can apply for Bake Off 2026?

The Bake Off presenters sit at a pastel pink-striped table covered with colorful cakes, pastries, and macarons. They are smiling and holding macarons toward the camera. One person wears a blue dress with large white polka dots, and the other wears a patterned shirt. The background is light blue, creating a bright and playful atmosphere.

Applications are open to all UK residents, including the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. You must be aged 16 or over by 1st January 2026. Full details, including entry rules and terms, are available at www.applyforbakeoff.co.uk.

For the 2026 series, Bake Off is continuing its commitment to reflecting the rich diversity of the Great British public. The production team is dedicated to celebrating a wide range of voices, backgrounds, and experiences, with a focus on increasing representation of underrepresented communities on screen.

Bake Off is committed to making the application process and the Bake Off tent itself as accessible and inclusive as possible. The team wants everyone to feel confident applying, whatever their individual needs.

Accessibility is something Bake Off continues to review and develop, and community input is always valued. Anyone with access needs or who requires reasonable adjustments at any stage of the process is encouraged to get in touch  – Bake Off will always do its best to provide the necessary support. Bake Off aims to create a space where everyone feels welcome, supported, and able to fully enjoy the experience.

Several bakers with disabilities have flourished in the Bake Off tent, reflecting the show’s ongoing commitment to inclusion. Tasha Stones, the first deaf contestant, competed in Series 14 with a British Sign Language interpreter and quickly became a fan favourite. \

Marc Elliott, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident, impressed audiences in Series 11 with his creativity and resilience.

Lizzie Acker, celebrated for her vibrant personality and honesty about living with ADHD and dyspraxia, inspired viewers during Series 12.

Briony May Williams, who was born with a limb difference, reached the semi-finals in Series 9 and has since built a successful career in television.

The 2025 series also featured Nataliia Richardson, a Ukrainian office assistant from East Yorkshire, who spoke openly about having a stammer — further highlighting Bake Off’s dedication to showcasing a wide range of experiences and celebrating the individuality of every baker in the tent.

What is Bake Off looking for?

An enthusiasm for baking is essential! While a good cake is great, Bake Off also tests skills in bread, biscuits, pastry and more – so having a range of experience is a plus.

But no one is expected to be perfect from the start. Bakers can grow their skills as they progress – so a willingness to learn is just as important as raw talent.

Top tips for your application:

  • Share as much about yourself and your baking journey as possible. What kind of baker are you? What makes you & your bakes unique?
  • Include photos of your creations — as many as you can!
  • Videos are a great way to show us your personality. If you can, please include a video with your entry.
