British clothing brand Fred Perry has launched the Adaptive Fred Perry Shirt, which has been crafted with two magnetic fastenings for increased ease of dressing.
Based on the classic Twin Tipped Fred Perry Shirt (M3600), this adaptive update to the way Fred Perry’s iconic shirt’s placket is opened and closed offers a more accessible option for dressing, making it easier for people with dexterity issues, limb differences or other accessibility needs.
In terms of fit, fabrication and detailing, each stitch remains consistent with the original M3600. In place of traditional buttons, two concealed magnetic fastenings allow the shirt to be easily opened and closed. Two non-functional buttons sit on top to maintain the signature look, preserving the classic aesthetic while discreetly enhancing functionality.
Every effort has been made to ensure that this new piece sits seamlessly among the existing line of Fred Perry shirts. At £75 RRP, there is also no price difference between the Adaptive Fred Perry Shirt and its currently available counterpart. The same shirt – adapted.
Collaborating for inclusive fashion: behind the launch of the Adaptive Fred Perry Shirt

In developing this first adaptive Fred Perry garment, Fred Perry has worked with accessibility and inclusion consultants who have offered expert counsel from concept to execution.
Throughout the process, award-winning disability activist and strategist Shani Dhanda has provided guidance to Fred Perry, working alongside the clothing brand in its collective intent to set a new precedent for accessibility in fashion. Inclusive casting for this project was provided by Zebedee Talent.
The Fred Perry Shirt has always been something that brings people together: think of it as common ground for different individuals. In adding this new version of its iconic garment as a permanent fixture in the existing collection, Fred Perry hopes to make it easier for everyone to wear the Laurel Wreath.
Shani Dhanda shared what it was like working with Fred Perry on this inclusive project: “Fred Perry has always been a symbol of individuality and unity, and by adapting this iconic piece, they’re proving that style should never be a barrier. The Adaptive Fred Perry Shirt is setting a new benchmark for what accessible fashion can and should look like. It’s been an honour to work alongside the Fred Perry team on a change that is meaningful and essential in shaping the future of inclusive fashion.”
Sue Moore, Head of Creatives and Consultants at Zebedee, added: “We have had the privilege of working with Fred Perry on a number of projects, including the Channel 4 documentary, New Model Agency back in 2023, and now partnering and supplying talent for the Adaptive Shirt. Our expertise enables clients to have access to a vast and diverse network of talent and consultancy services that they just wouldn’t get anywhere else. We’re really proud of Shani and the fantastic work she did to assist with this campaign, as well as Dan, who is looking fabulous in the images.”

Advertise With Crip Life™
The Crip Life™ advertising strategy is “Pay What You Can (PWYC).” We know this is very different to most, if not all, online magazines. PWYC is a business model that doesn’t insist upon set prices for its goods or services. Instead, it asks clients to pay what you feel the product or service is worth and what they can afford to pay.
We want to place adverts for a wide range of clients. So, whatever the size of the organisation, if you want to promote a product or service, contact Joanna Baker-Rogers.
