Sirus Automotive – one of the UK’s leading providers of adaptive vehicles – is launching the new Ford Connect rear wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV). With seating for up to six people, the Ford Grand Tourneo Connect is the perfect family-sized wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Sirus shares details on its new Ford Connect WAV – the accessibility, safety and technology features available for a comfortable, spacious and modern journey for wheelchair users.

Our premium conversion retains Ford’s original three mid-row seats and the wheelchair user sits comfortably in the third row. This latest wheelchair accessible vehicle boasts exceptional headroom and space, our signature Sirus high-quality finish and the latest Ford driver assistance and safety technology.

Ford Connect wheelchair accessible vehicle – accessibility features for disabled passenger

Our rear entry conversion is designed so you can park with ease in a standard parking space. The wheelchair user enters and exits from the rear via a light, counter-balanced manual ramp and assisted tailgate.

Our ramp is designed with a shallow incline and is below 13 degrees. The ramp design ensures an unobstructed view through the rear window when stowed.

The vehicle has space for six people as standard – wheelchair user, driver, front passenger and three mid-row passengers. We include Ford seats in the mid-row, which includes two ISOFIX fitments to secure child seats.

You can also fold away one, two or three mid-row seats giving you a more inclusive wheelchair position and additional space for extra equipment, luggage or a larger wheelchair.

Our expertly designed non-slip lowered floor provides class-leading headroom for taller wheelchair users. We have created user-optimum interior space and headroom (145cm/57″).

  • Ensuring exceptional quality, the vehicle floor includes an anti-slip coating which improves wheel traction in wet weather
  • As standard, we include a four-point manual wheelchair restraint from Q’Straint
  • Sound insulation to reduce road noise while travelling
  • Highest quality finish using stainless steel and bespoke mouldings
  • Original Ford fuel tank which means an accurate fuel gauge at all times
  • High-grade non-slip flooring is used throughout the lowered floor section

Enjoy accessible journeys with a stylish and digital experience

The Ford Grand Tourneo Connect features a sporty exterior, bold front grilles, dynamic styling, a refined interior, and an all-digital driving experience.

The 8.25” or 10” colour touchscreen seamlessly connects with your smartphone. The 10.25” Digital Instrument Cluster lets you customise the display with a range of vehicle data. A 7-Speed Powershift Auto gearbox ensures outstanding power plus direct fuel injection with remarkable efficiency.

“The Sirus service has been exceptional. The whole team has been extremely friendly and helpful. They really cheer you on and want the very best outcome for you. They are super helpful and take the time to go through all the options with you when you are choosing a wheelchair accessible vehicle. I am very grateful for their support and cannot recommend them enough to anyone thinking about purchasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle either outright or through the Motability Scheme”. ~ Rupy, Sirus Ford Connect customer.

We want to place adverts for a wide range of clients. So, whatever the size of the organisation, if you want to promote a product or service, contact Joanna Baker-Rogers.
