AccessAbility Arts creates a warm and inclusive community that celebrates diverse talents from all walks of life. It was co-founded by DK, a mixed freestyle poet and music producer with cerebral palsy, to captivate audiences all over the UK.

In the lively Facebook group, artists can share their work, connect with like-minded folks, and get inspired by creative prompts.

On the AccessAbility Arts Instagram and Facebook pages, you can dive into the community’s vibrant creativity. You’ll see amazing artwork shared by talented members, catch the live events and workshops, and keep up with all things AccessAbility Arts.

Celebrate You: A Free Collage Workshop

Get ready for an amazing festive night of Spoken Word with AccessAbility Arts this December! Be prepared for powerful performances, open mic sessions and a raffle with fab prizes!

There will also be a guest appearance by Gerald Kells, a resident of Walsall for 40 years who takes great pride in his beloved town. Alongside his work advocating for the countryside with Friends of the Earth and the Campaign to Protect Rural England, he has dedicated himself to writing.

In his debut full-length collection, LI – Fifty-One Poems, Gerald Kells will skillfully guide you on a journey from the personal to the profound, from sweeping vistas to intimate observations, from love to loss, and from despair to hope.

AccessAbility Arts Presents Spoken Word with special guest Kate Jenkinson

Get pumped for a night of awesome Spoken Word and you won’t believe who’s headlining – the incredible Dr Kate Jenkinson, a scientist and poet known for her unique blend of roles as a mother, daughter, friend, coach, and entrepreneur.

As one of the few LinkedIn Business Poets, she shares her love for hats and diverse experiences on stage at open mics and slams. In 2022, her TEDx talk Poetry Never Abandons Us captivated audiences, solidifying her presence at international events. Her work can be found in various publications, including EyeFlash, Good DadHood, Steel Jackdaw, Flight of the Dragonfly, and Feral, a collaborative Mother/Daughter project.

Embracing her recent realisation of being neurodivergent, Kate delves into her past in her debut poetry collection, exploring moments of heartache, triumph, and acceptance. As an aphantasic poet, Kate’s focus lies beyond visual imagery, capturing emotions through sounds, tastes, and touch.

Her poetry, infused with lyricism, wordplay, and rhythm, comes alive on the page through structured forms and free verse. Through her collection Un/Broken, Kate guides readers on a journey of self-acceptance and resilience, inviting introspection along the way.

AccessAbility Arts Presents Spoken Word with special guest Charlotte Faulconbridge

AccessAbility Arts is super excited to announce that the next AccessAbility Arts event next February is going to be epic! AccessAbility Arts has the incredible Charlotte Faulconbridge headlining for you and open mic slots up for grabs.

Charlotte Faulconbridge is a talented prize-winning poet, published author, musician and TEDx performer. Not only is she an Ambassador for CW MIND and a finalist in this year’s BBC Make a Difference Awards, but she is also autistic and deals with anxiety, OCD, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorder, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), and a growing obsession with cats.

Introducing her debut poetry collection, which includes a whirlwind exploration of what unfolds when a geek girl is torn between Nuclear Fission and the colour pink, Charlotte fearlessly confronts her adversaries, challenging them with all her might. Is she brave or simply foolish? Join AccessAbility Arts on a journey through her tumultuous Warring Twenties, where she uncovers the truth.

This event is all about celebrating diversity and inclusivity, so whether you’re a seasoned performer or a newbie to the stage, everyone is welcome to join in on the fun. There’s even a raffle happening at the event – let’s make sure everyone’s voice is appreciated!
